First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen, China

The built-in solution includes an electric monorail vehicle system (EMVS), an automatic tube system (PTS), an automatic driverless transportation system (ADTS), an automatic waste and laundry transfer system (AWLS) and an automatic food waste system (AFWS)

The hospital management of the First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen decided to implement Telelift’s innovative intelligent logistics system as it optimally meets the hospital’s needs. The hospital’s requirement was for an automated material handling system that offers high efficiency and safety, enables the separation of clean and dirty material and ensures comprehensive coverage of material categories. In addition, the creation of free floor space in accordance with local building regulations and compliance with the relevant building regulations was an important issue.

The integrated solution includes an electric rail vehicle system (ETV) as the main logistics system for small and medium-sized materials, an automated pneumatic tube system (PTS) for the transportation of small to medium-sized items, an automated guided vehicle (AGV) for clean material logistics, an automated waste and linen transfer system (AWLS) for soiled linen and waste, and an automated food waste logistics system (AFWS).

The installation of these systems has significantly reduced transportation times in the hospital. The (nursing) staff are also relieved of logistics tasks and thus have more time for patient care.
