Transportation of food samples from delivery to various laboratory rooms

The Sigmaringen Chemical and Veterinary Investigation Office (CVUA) employs around 110 members of staff, who form a qualified, interdisciplinary team of scientific experts (food chemists, veterinarians, biologists), chemical engineers, technical staff (chemical laboratory technicians, CTAs, BTAs, MTAs, VMTAs, MTLAs) and administrative staff.
Modern laboratory, administrative and social facilities are located in two interconnected building complexes with a total floor area of approximately 4,600 m². In order to significantly simplify transportation routes, a MultiCar conveyor system was installed to transport food samples from the delivery area to various laboratory rooms within the laboratory building. The transport takes place in plastic containers with external dimensions of (L 600 x W 400 x H 250 mm) with five MultiCar trolleys and controlled load handling equipment.
The installation of the Telelift system has significantly improved the processes. For example, it is now possible to allocate the samples directly to the respective laboratories. This secures the work processes in the long term and significantly shortens throughput times, which also allows resources to be used more efficiently.
