Transportation of medical supplies in one of Europe’s largest university hospitals
Charité Berlin
With over 3,000 beds, the Charité is one of the largest university hospitals in Europe. The hospital is one of the most important teaching and research facilities in Europe. More than half of Germany‘s Nobel Prize winners in medicine or physiology have come from this hospital.
Since 1986, Charité Berlin has been using a Telelift system with a total track length of 13.2 km, 107 stations and 344 trolleys. The transport capacity of the system is approximately 3,900 transports per day. In connection with the expansion of telemedicine in the Department of Anaesthesiology with a focus on surgical intensive care at the Charité Campus Virchow-Klinikum, the Telelift system is also being extended.
