Lean installations without compromise

The State Library “Unter den Linden” in Berlin is an impressive example of how Telelift systems can be successfully integrated even in listed and historical buildings.

Built between 1903 and 1914, the library building underwent extensive renovation and modernization between 2005 and 2020 – without compromising its historical character. As part of this renovation, a modern book transport system was installed, comprising 80 sending and receiving stations and 540 transport containers.

The slim, space-saving systems blend discreetly into the listed building fabric and enable efficient logistics, which reduces the workload for staff and allows them to focus on core library tasks. A web-based visualization system ensures full transparency and control of the transports.

This project impressively demonstrates that modern, innovative logistics solutions are also possible in historic buildings – without compromising on aesthetics or functionality.
